A broken or chipped tooth is normally
sensitive to air, touch, cold or heat due to the second
layer of the tooth being exposed. If the sensitivity
lasts longer than just while the hot, cold, or air is
present, this could indicate a problem with the nerve.
Initial treatment consists of covering
up the sensitive area. Most pharmacies have orthodontic
wax which will act as a good temporary cover-up.
Follow-up with your dentist for definitive
treatment.
